Reel Mower Upgrade

Description

The Reel Mower upgrade is targeted to the serious lawn care enthusiast that is really serious about getting the best appearance of the lawn.

A rotary mower cuts the blades of grass with brute force.  Even with a sharp blade, the rotary is knocking the top of each blade off.  If you look closely, you will see tear rather than a cut.  This tear produces a tiny brown patch on each blade top.  The damage to the blade is the cause of the slight brownish hue a day or two after a mowing.

The Reel mower on the other hand is much more precise.  It cuts the blade like a pair of scissors.  A reel mower actually has two blades.  One is stationary on the bottom of the mower and the other is the spinning reel.  The reel gathers the blades against the stationary blade and makes the scissor cut.  Since the cut is clean, the browning is almost imperceptible.

The Reel Mower upgrade is best suited for narrow blade grass (ex. zoysia) that is conducive to a cut of 1″or less.  Not all lawns are suited for a Reel Mower cut, but when they are, the results are outstanding!
